Bobbie Ann Zamenski, passed away Monday, May 26th, 2025, in Bowie, Texas. She had been a resident of Bowie for 32 years, moving from Arlington, Texas in December 1992.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
Bobbie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Sydney and Fay Williams. When she was five years old, the family moved to San Angelo, Texas and later to Odessa, Texas.
She retired from TU Electric (now TXU/Oncor) in 1992. While employed there for over thirty years, she held many positions of responsibility including Division Customer Operations Specialist, Supervisor, Senior Analyst, General Customer Operations Specialist, and Corporate Procurement Materials Management. She had worked in Odessa, Midland, Fort Worth, and Dallas, Texas. While in Dallas Bobbie helped develop three different computer information systems and was instrumental in training over 7,000 employees throughout the State.
Bobbie attended schools in San Angelo, Odessa, Odessa College and Texas Tech University majoring in Business Administration.
While living in Bowie, Bobbie Zamenski was active in many civic areas including President of Maids and Matrons Club, President of the Bowie Public Library Board of Directors, member of Friends of the Library, Secretary of the Amon Carter Lake Water Supply Board of Directors, Secretary of the Board of Directors of Top O'The Lake Country Club, member of Top O'The Lake Country Club, Bowie Golf Club, and secretary/treasurer of the Ladies Golf Association. She also volunteered her service to the Main Street Bowie project and delivered Meals-on-Wheels for seven years.
She was honored to be among five people nominated for the 2004 Frances Brite Outstanding Citizen award given by the Bowie Chamber of Commerce.
She held membership in the National Cutting Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association and raised, trained and showed horses for several years.
Bobbie had a lifelong interest in music and was a professional vocalist, singing on radio, television, nightclubs, supper clubs, and charity events and was a soloist with her schools and church choirs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Zamenski, her parents, Sydney and Fay Williams, and brother, Roger C. Williams.
Bobbie is survived by nephews, Roger Williams of Lubbock, and Sydney Scott Williams of Kermit, TX; stepchildren, Kathy, Frank, and Greg Zamenski of Michigan; and her most beloved pets. Her numerous friends will remember her as a person with the courage of a warrior and the grace of an angel. She truly loved and cherished her many friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Bobbie to the Bowie Public Library, Pine Hill Pet Park, or the Humane Society of Wichita County, Wichita Falls, Texas, or any animal shelter or rescue group would be appreciated.
