Bobby Gene Watkins, 81 of Bowie, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 2nd, 2022.
A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9th, at the First Baptist Church of Bowie, with Pastor Mike Henson officiating.
Bobby Watkins was born June 2, 1940 in Olton, Texas, to Richard and Della Watkins. He married Sharon Mershon, the love of his life, on November 27, 1958. A special marriage in which they were the best of friends and enjoyed each other's company so much that they were seldom if ever seen separate.
He spent his life devoted to mechanic work, forty-two years of which was working side by side with Sharon as owners and operators of Bobbyβs Auto Service. He was known as someone who could fix anything.
Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He would joke with people and always had visitors at the shop who were sure to be the recipients of his pranks.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Sharon Watkins; daughter, Shelly Taylor and husband Steve of Henrietta, TX; daughter, Mitzi Wallace and husband Wess of Bowie, TX; son, Shane Watkins and wife Melissa of Bowie, TX; grandchildren, Kasey Tugmon and husband Tyler, Jayla Minyard and husband Kyle, Chelsey Henry and husband Riley, Kelli Wallace, Jessica Hoffman and husband Justin, Jaycee Garland and husband Alex, Brady Weaver and wife Kyndal, Braxton Weaver and wife Morgan, and Brennan Weaver and wife Samantha; great-grandchildren, Karter, Garyson, Marley, Everley, Jake, West-lee, Amelia, Jensen, Jhett, Jayton, Emersyn, and Sutton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
