Daniel Worley Dunn, 46 of Bowie, TX, beloved son and brother, went home to heaven on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Daniel was born on May 27, 1978, in Bethesda Maryland. The family moved to San Antonio in 1980 where Dan went to Hidden Forest Elementary K-2, and San Antonio Christian Schools grades 3-7.
The summer after seventh grade, the family visited Thailand with his Dad's parents which sparked an interest in travel, world cultures, and missions in Dan. On returning to Texas, the family moved to Bowie to be near his maternal grandparents, Roy and Becky Curry.
Dan graduated from Bowie High School in 1996.
He earned an associate’s degree in oil and gas at NCTC and worked in that field for some time. In 2012, Dan completed a bachelor's degree in finance cum laude at the Dillard College of Business Administration from Midwestern State University. Following graduation, he enjoyed learning about the stock market and focused on futures trading online.
Through these years, Daniel never lost his desire for travel and missions, and he served as an intern with a Christian ministry traveling in the US, Canada, Mexico, and India. He also completed the Bible school associated with this ministry. Following a mountain-top experience with God, his desire to know the Lord and His word grew even more. He loved helping others along the way.
One of Dan's favorite scriptures was Malachi 4:2-4 NLT:
"But for you who fear My name, the Son of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture."
Daniel had a major heart attack on Thanksgiving 2023, from which he never fully recovered. His heart failure worsened, and on May 2 he entered his heavenly home. Now "he is free, leaping with joy".
Daniel is survived by his parents, James and DiAnne of Bowie; his older brother James and his wife Jennifer of Denton; and his uncle, Roy L Curry, Jr (Bronc) and his wife Lisa of Grand Prairie.
A private celebration of life is planned for a future date outside of Bowie. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the Bowie Mission.
Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, Texas.
