Obituary For Diane Mara

Diane Mara, 72 of Bowie, TX passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Wichita Falls, TX.

Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27th, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bowie, with Charles Kerley officiating.

Burial will follow Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.

Family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Diane was born June 20, 1952 in Bowie, and raised in the area as one of eight children. She grew up in a close-knit family that shaped her deep sense of kindness, toughness, and love. Diane had 2 children, Shane and Marissa. She had a long career at Haggar Apparel, but her true love was treasure hunting. She loved buying and reselling items not just for profit but for the joy of the hunt.

Diane will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she gave freely to all who knew her. She was an amazing Mother, Mudder-in-law, MaeMe, Granny, and Auntie Di. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Mara; her parents, Jerald and Mary McDonald; twin brother Bo McDonald; siblings Carla Robinson, Jerry McDonald, Judy Haney, Carolyn Carter, and Marilyn Cross.

Diane is survived by her son, Shane Mara and spouse Lerah; daughter, Marissa Blassingame and spouse Kevin; brother, Kenny McDonald and spouse Dena; her beloved grandchildren, Jack Mara and Alex Mara; her treasured granddoggers, Chloe, Remi and Pax; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
