Harold Gene Cable, 74 of Bellevue, TX, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 25th, 2023 in Waurika, OK.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX, with Steven Bernard officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Harold was born December 26, 1948 in Quanah, TX to Sid Cable and Oma Allan, and resided in Montague County, most of his young adult, and adult life.
Harold graduated at Gold-Burg High School in 1966. He did many things, and had many accomplishments throughout his life, including joining the United States Air Force, becoming a police officer, and eventually retiring in the oil field as a pumper. Harold married his wife, Nancy Cable, and soon gave birth to their first daughter together, Sandy Cable, in 1974. Harold and Nancy would go on to have four children in all, (Sandy Cable, Brandy Thomas, Harold Gene Cable Jr., and Corky Beasley), which gave Harold his favorite title, Dad, and eventually, Papa.
Throughout his life, Harold would enjoy taking his family fishing and camping every weekend, and he eventually earned his nickname, “Wild Man”. He earned that name from being as stubborn as a mule, as strong as a bear, but a heart made with gold. Harold was known for his work ethic, intelligence, loyalty, and his family values. He never failed to lend a helping hand, and put you in your place when you needed it. He was a hardworking man, a true friend, and a great husband and father. He loved great, and he was greatly loved.
Harold was a good man, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Harold is survived by his wife Nancy Cable; children Sandy Cable, Brandy Thomas, Harold Gene Cable Jr., and his stepson, Kevin Thomas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister Wanda Molsbee and husband Keith.
