Obituary For Joyce "Judy" LeVeigh Corpening

Joyce “Judy” LeVeigh (Denson) Corpening, 97, passed from this

Life on February 4, 2026 for her Eternal Home in Heaven.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bowie,

Monday, February 9th, 2026. A visitation at the church will begin

at 1:00pm and the services will begin at 2:00pm.

Burial will follow at the OakHill Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX under the direction of the

White Family Funeral Home.

Joyce was born October 27, 1928 in Clay County, Texas to Robert Lonnie and Mary Delpha (Bowden) Denson. She met the Love of her life & Husband of 60 years, Joseph Fowler Corpening in Stoneburg, Texas at the School Bus Stop in 1934. They Married May 24, 1950 in Bowie, Texas. Joyce & Joe were school sweethearts, husband & wife, and business partners in the Oil & Gas Industry and other business endeavors since 1957. She was a loving Mother of two daughters.

She also worked for Southwestern Bell from 1946 to 1957. She was a 1946 Graduate of Bowie High School. Joyce gave her Life to Jesus Christ as a young teen and was a Lifelong member of the First Baptist Church & a member of the Charity Sunday School class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers George Thurston Denson & wife Dutch and Sebie KempDenson & wife Juanita.

She is survived by Two Daughters, Cynthia Ann Roberts and husband Billy Ray of Bowie, and Linda Ruth Sanders & husband Sterling of Graham. She is also survived by numerous cherished nieces and nephews and their spouses & many treasured lifelong friends. Her Best FurFriend Ginger Cat “Fred” survives her as well.
