Joyce Payne, 91, of Decatur, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2025.

She was born November 6, 1933 in Olustee, Oklahoma, to Carl Stewart and Pauline Medlock. She married Theodore Payne on September 1, 1951. She will be remembered for her love and devotion that she showed her family.

She was the beloved mother of two daughters: Valerie Adams, Gloria Tennison and husband Bill. She was the grandmother of Brandy Cash and husband James, Leann Vosbourgh and husband Nate, Jamie Delgado and husband Joel, Scott Tennison and wife Teresa, Dandy Wilson and wife Tatia, Terry Wilson and wife Johanna, and Chad Vess who welcomed her into heaven. She was the great-grandmother of Kala Meyers and husband Ryan, Sera Luman and husband Aaron, Kenny Dunaway and wife Ema, Dominic Delgado, Devin Delgado, William Tennison, Charlie Tennison, Katie Vess, Cassidy Wilson, Sadi Wilson, Justin Lambert and wife Cassidy, Lindsey Snyder and Ike, Heather and Zake, Tanner Wilson and wife Mallory, Cora Wilson, Micha Wilson and wife Audrey, Michala O’dwyer and husband David, Chaz Rohman and wife Raelynn. She was the great great grandmother of Ryder Meyers, Ronyn Meyers, Connor O’dwyer, Clifford Wilson, Paisleigh Wilson, Lincoln Wilson, Spencer Wilson, Haegon Rohman, and Swayde Rohman.

She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Payne, and grandson Chad Vess.

Her legacy of love will be remembered by all of those who knew her.
