Linda Kay Gaines, 71 of Bowie, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 in Nocona, TX.
Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29th, at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, with Pastor Mike Henson officiating.
Linda was born August 20, 1950 in Bowie, TX to Ruby and J. Duwayne Brooks. On June 5th, 1970, she married Melvin Ray Gaines at Central Baptist Church in Bowie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Glenda Brooks Miller.
Linda is survived by her husband Melvin Gaines; son Brent Gaines of Bowie; daughter Brandi Merrett and husband Joe of Weatherford, TX; grandsons Stetson Gaines of Bowie, Justin Gaines of Gainesville, TX, and Caden Merrett of Weatherford; granddaughter Brooklyn Merrett of Weatherford; and siblings Phil Brooks of Dallas, TX, Cindy Atchley and husband Billy of Big Spring, TX, and Rene Hopson and husband Don of Bowie, TX.
Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Youth and Children's Ministries of the First Baptist Church of Bowie.
