Maggie Killen, 87, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on Saturday, April 18th, 2026.
A graveside service will take place on April 27th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Salona Cemetery near Bowie, TX.
Maggie was born on November 5th, 1938, in Bowie, TX to Bertha Irene (Brewer) and Emmett Franklin Thompson. She was a graduate of Bowie High School. She soon after built a career as an oil information secretary and later in life as a business office manager in a skilled nursing home.
Maggie Killen was known for her strength, resilience, and kindness. She had a love for order, and she never met a stranger. If you were near Maggie, she made sure you did not leave her presence without something, if it was hug or candy, she made sure you felt seen.
She was preceded in death by parents Bertha Irene and Emmett Franklin Thompson: sisters; Gracie McNatt, Berneice Oliver, Ola Mae Deeton, Ernestine Ray, and Dorothy Woolf: brothers; Kelly Thompson, John Thompson, Lonnie Thompson, Wayne Thompson, and Tommy Thompson: son; Ricky Wallace: and daughter; Vicki Cullens.
She is survived by two grandchildren: Keri Cullens, and her children, Caelan and Dolores Cullens and Rheannon Adams, and her children, Maxton Philbin, D’Arcy, Van and William Adams.
For the last twenty years, Maggie was a resident of University Park Nursing and Rehab. University Park was her home and her family. She helped daily to make sure everything stayed in order and that both staff and residents knew there was always something to smile about. Her family would like to thank University Park for their love and care and unwavering support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to University Park Nursing and Rehab in her memory.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
