Mary Lou Hill, 95, of Bowie, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26th, at Hopewell Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX, with a graveside service following at 2:00 p.m.
Mary was born on September 29, 1926, in Stoneburg, to Jason E. Edwards and Sarah Jordan Thornton. She married Claude Hill on January 15, 1952.
Mary was a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bowie. She enjoyed attending homecoming gatherings at Stoneburg, visiting friends, selling Avon and eating at Longhorn Café. Her hobbies included square dancing with her husband, playing cards with her neighbors, and taking care of everyone she loved.
Mary was a friend to many in her community. She was loved, respected, and will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Claude Hill, her son Robert Hill and 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
Mary is survived by her son Charles “Buddy” Hill and wife Joyce; granddaughters Shaney Hill, Mendy Chaisson and husband Chad and Jenna Acuna and husband Rusty; her grandson Buddy Jace “B.J.” Hill and wife Crystal; great-grandsons Mason Hill, Jace Hill, Coby Hill, Liam Acuna and Lennon Acuna; and great-granddaughter Gabrielle Chaisson.
