It is with great sadness and bittersweet gratitude that the Deen and Dallas families announce the passing of our brave, strong, and unimaginably determined daughter, sister, mother and Mimi Mistie Lee Kimmel.
After a hard fought battle, Mistie entered the gates of Heaven on May 27, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family. At the age of 48 she began her eternity reunited with her beloved daughter Destiny and her granddaughter Avery and was welcomed home by the many family members awaiting her arrival in Glory.
Mistie was born on December 18, 1976 to Linda Dallas and Gary Deen in Fresno, California. After growing up in California, Mistie relocated to Texas where she raised her children Destiny, Amber, Suniya and Abe mostly in the Bowie area. Mistie worked as a CNA for most of her life, caring for others with compassion and kindness. After becoming Mimi, her focus shifted from her patients and her life began to revolve around her grandchildren. She found the most joy in spending time with them. Mistie eventually moved to Torrington, Wyoming to be closer to her brother Michael, but spent her final years back in Texas with her daughter, Sunni.
Mistie is survived by her husband, Max Kimmel; mother, Linda Dallas (Neiko); father, Gary Deen (Erin); brother, Michael Deen (Rebecca); sister, Jessica Anderson (Jason); daughter, Amber Hilbers (Jewelene); daughter, Suniya Logan (Brandon); son, Abrahim Rizwan (Sydney); grandchildren, Caden, Chandler, McKynna, Kylie, Jensyn, Grant, Brooks, Miller, Bella, Hudson, and Octavia. Mistie is also survived by two very special aunts, Debbie Lee and Eleanor Dallas, as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mistie was preceded in death by her daughter, Destiny Thomas, granddaughter Avery Caraway, maternal grandparents Earl and Beverley Dallas and paternal grandparents Bill and Armenta Deen.
