Oliver Oscar Neff, 83 of Keene, TX, went to be with the Father on Thursday, January 19th, 2023.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23rd, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, with Pastor Billy Waller officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 22nd, at the White Family Funeral Home.
Oliver was born on Bear Creek, in a tent in Junction, TX on May 18, 1939 to James Franklin and Sara (Martin) Neff. At age 17 he met Patricia Booher, and the couple married on August 17, 1957, and spent the next 48 years together, until her passing September 1, 2005.
Oliver began working in the oilfield when he was 16, and made it his longtime career, until the industry collapsed in the 80's, he then drove a rock truck until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and singing Gospel music. In 2013 Oliver married Claudia McCanless. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 wife’s Patricia Neff and Della Neff, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Oliver is survived by his wife Claudia Neff; children, Glen and Nancy Neff of Bowie, Marsha and Bob Pennington of Bowie, Kimberly and Larry Sledge of Montague, and Oliver Odell and Melanie Neff of Comanche, OK; step-children, Silvia and Johnny Posey, Sharon and David McClanahan and Selena Kitchens; grandchildren, Dewayne Schelsteder, Brandon Neff, Brittany Harrison, Cody Schelsteder, Kyle Neff, Ben Sledge, Katie Bowman, Mary Tabor, Karroll Mayfield, Harley Madison, MaKayla Neff, and Taylor Neff; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
