Obituary For Patricia "Pat" Louise Maughan

Patricia “Pat” Louise (Puckett) Maughan, 82, of Bowie, Texas, passed away on July 20, 2026 in Denton, Texas.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, July 27th, at Rosston Cemetery in Rosston, Texas.

Pat was born February 26, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, to Warren Albert and Myrtle (VanCamp) Puckett. She married George Albert Maughan on August 6, 1961, in Valley View, Texas. Her life was one dedicated to hard work and her family.

She worked throughout her life in several roles, including as a waitress on her family’s café, and a seamstress for Linda Jo/JA Mark Shoe Factory. In 1984, she began working at Bowie Memorial Hospital as an aide. She later advanced to sterile supply technician in surgery and ended her career as Central Supply Clerk, where she was over shipping and receiving. Pat retired from the hospital in 2014.

Pat’s love of crocheting, puzzles, reading, white roses, and doves, reflect her patience, creativity, and her love of the simple things in life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, George Maughan; Sister, Marilyn Puckett Hohen; and brother, Kenneth Puckett.

Pat is survived by her son, Harold Maughan and wife Jinna of Rosston, TX; and her daughter, Carol Fleitman and husband Melvin of Saint Jo, TX.

Lovingly known as “Grandma Bowie”, Pat is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric Fleitman and wife Gena of Callisburg, TX; Amber Fleitman Mosman and husband John of Lindsay, TX; and Monina Louise Maughan of Rosston. As well as her great-grandchildren, Landon, Luke, and Logan Mosman of Lindsay.
