Obituary For Patrick Lloyd Walters
Patrick Lloyd Walters, 70, of Bowie, Texas, a husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven suddenly on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Funeral services will take place at the First Baptist Church of Bowie on Friday, September 25th, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ethan Sandusky officiating
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 24th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Patrick was born in Bowie on April 27, 1956, to Lloyd and Wanda Walters, the third of four children.
Patrick graduated from Bowie High School in 1974, and he attended Tarrant County Junior College for Architecture, but during a class one day he was introduced to Surveying, which changed his educational direction.
Patrick married Cheryl Dempsey on May 28, 1982.
Patrick had a love of the outdoors. He loved to hunt; fish and camp and he used this knowledge to be a Boy Scout leader in the '80s and later with his son.
Patrick worked under a few Surveyors to learn the trade before challenging the exam for his own professional license in 1986. Patrick and Cheryl have worked together since 1987 to develop Walters Land Surveying Company and now have two of their three children working with them to carry on the legacy.
Patrick also had interests in Law Enforcement, in which he served while establishing his own business, He was an LTC instructor, which he enjoyed teaching, and he volunteered with the Vashti Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He also obtained his private pilot’s license and flew for many years.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Cheryl of 44 years and his children, Chad (Katherine) Walters, Hilary (Jeremy) Payne and Natalie (Brett) Alldredge. Grandchildren Addison, Christian, Conner, Cole and Charles Walters, Mason, Micah, Maybrie, Maddox, McKenna and McCoy Payne, David, Graham and Lucas Alldredge. Brother, Brad (Denise) Walters, Sisters, Trena (Rickey) Payne and Barbara Riley and several Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lloyd and Wanda Walters, brother-in-law, T.L. Riley and great-niece Ava Riley.
Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
