"Patsy" Ruth West Lyons, 98 passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Bowie, TX.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, in the chapel of the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the service on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the White Family Funeral Home.
Patsy was born April 5, 1927, in Vernon, Texas to David Hamilton West and Lucille McGinty West. She married James Brock Lyons on January 4, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas. They celebrated 70 wonderful years together before his death in 2017.
She was a 1945 graduate and recently honored as the oldest living graduate of Bowie High School. Patsy was a 53-year member of Bowie Chapter #16 Order of The Eastern Star. She worked at G. C. Murphy Co. in Fort Worth before retiring to Bowie where she worked for Fry Funeral Home for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Lucille West, three brothers, one sister, her husband, James Brock Lyons, their son, James Brock Lyons Jr., and daughter -in-law, Beverly Lyons.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Karen Self and husband Leroy of Bowie; 11 grandchildren, Lynette Fultz and husband Robert of Decatur, TX, James Self and wife Brittany of Bowie, TX, Stephanie Morgan and husband David of Mansfield, AR, April Robles and husband Mikey of Mansfield, AR, Brock Lyons III of Mansfield, AR, Kiemeche Corbin and husband Westin of Charleston, AR, Dakotha Lyons of Van Buren, AR, Lannie Self of Dallas, TX, Terry Self and wife Vonda of Coppell, TX, Cheri Brittain and husband Dusty of Mineola, TX, and Troy Self of Newark, TX; fourteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and one soon to arrive.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Pat was a sweetheart and always treated us as her own grandkids. I'll miss her dearly.
