Burial will follow at Bluegrove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Jackie was born on September 29th, 1943 to John and Mary Bell Worthy of Richardson, TX. She was
raised in Dallas County until 1977, when her family moved to Montague County and became lifelong residents of Bowie, TX.
Jackie met the love of her life Paul Shepherd, while working in Richardson at Texas Instruments in
1963. The couple was married on July 4, 1964, and welcomed their son, Scott Shepherd, on July 23, 1965. She was a homemaker, hairstylist, and avid card game enthusiast. She loved shopping, Gaither concerts, Jay Hollis concerts, cruises, and traveling with her friends and extended family. Jackie was a proud volunteer for the Hospice Thrift Store in Bowie for many years, and was an integral part of their
success. She truly enjoyed cheering on her “#1 player” Korbin at all his sporting events in football, baseball and most of all basketball. Jackie was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Bowie, where she was a proud member of
their choir for many years.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Bell Worthy, husband Paul Shepherd,
brother Bud Worthy, twin brother Jimmy Mack Worthy, and sister Pat Tawwater.
Jackie is survived by her son Scott; best friend forever and adopted daughter Lisa Dunn and husband Donnie; her family members, Stephanie Grady and Korbin Grady (her favorite Bubba), and Evan and Amanda Biles family; along with many nephews and nieces, and brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law as well. Jackie had a handful of BEST FRIENDS that she considered sisters as well. She was “ONE TOUGH COOKIE” and was truly beautiful inside and out, loved by so many in her community, and her BUNKO CIRLE, and will be truly missed by them all. She loved with all her heart, and cherished everyone she called her family.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made in honor of Jackie to the Southside Baptist Church, the Bluegrove Cemetery Association Fund, or the Bowie Animal Shelter.
Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
