Rhonda Denise Idlett, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 61. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love in their hearts forever.
A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8th, at Brushy Cemetery in Bowie, TX.
Rhonda was born April 20, 1965, in Houston, TX to Melton and Shirley Tucker. She loved the outdoors and loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and friends. She had a big heart and always tried to see the best in people. She cared deeply for those around her and had a way of making people feel loved and welcomed.
Her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart. Rhonda loved Raegan Idlett, Tucker Idlett, and Rilyn Hilton with her whole heart. The love she had for them was unconditional, and the memories they shared with their grandmother will be treasured for generations to come.
Rhonda was never afraid to be herself. She wasn’t perfect, and she didn’t always make the right choices, but she tried. She loved, she laughed, she made mistakes, and she kept moving forward. Those who knew her knew that underneath it all was a woman with a good heart who loved her family deeply.
She also had a sense of humor that could make you laugh even when you probably didn’t want to. If you ever left something lying around, Rhonda would be sure to pick it up for you—and then somehow managed to never tell you where she put it. What may have been frustrating at the time will now be one of those little memories that her family will smile about and wish they could experience just one more time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Idlett; her brother, Shain Tucker; her father, Melton Tucker; and her mother, Shirley Tucker.
Rhonda is survived by her children, John Idlett and his wife, Randa Idlett, Jessica Idlett and her fiancé, Ryan Hilton; her grandchildren, Raegan Idlett, Tucker Idlett, and Rilyn Hilton; her brother, William Tucker; her sister, Christina Taylor; and her sister-in-law, Lena Tucker, along with extended family and many friends who loved her dearly.
Rhonda’s life was not defined by perfection, but by love, laughter, family, and the memories she created along the way. Her absence will leave a space that cannot be filled, but her love will continue through her children, her grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
