Obituary For Ruby "LaNelle" Preuninger

Ruby “LaNelle” Preuninger, 87 of Bowie, TX went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 10th, 2026.

A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

LaNelle was born on January 31, 1939, in Bowie, Texas, to Ewing LeRoy and Ruby LaRue (Archer) Long. She grew up in Bowie, attended local schools, and graduated in 1957.

On February 14, 1958, LaNelle married L.G. Preuninger in Bowie. Together, they built a loving life and raised two sons. Throughout her career, LaNelle served as a court clerk for both city and county judges.

LaNelle was a longtime and devoted member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary and taught Sunday school. She later joined her son at the First Baptist Church in Bowie. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she truly cherished her time at church and the opportunity to teach and share with others.

LaNelle found joy in the simple blessings of life. She and her husband enjoyed traveling together, and she took great pleasure in sewing and crocheting. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her faith, her devotion to family, and the many ways she touched the lives of those around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.G. Preuninger, and brother, J.L. Long.

LaNelle is survived by her sons, Lynn Preuninger and wife Lenesa of Bowie and Michael Preuninger and wife Darla of Saint Jo; grandchildren, Larry Preuninger and wife Erica of Bowie, Randall Preuninger of Bowie, and Lance Preuninger and wife Kenya of Canton, TX; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials can be made in honor of LaNelle to the First Baptist Church of Bowie Building Fund at 306 Cooper St. Bowie, TX 76230.
