Obituary For Stanley Wayne Maxwell

Stanley Wayne Maxwell 73 of Vashti, TX, passed away Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at the Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13th, at the Pleasant Mound Free Will Baptist Church of Buffalo Springs, 357 Rock Church Road, Bellevue, TX.

Burial will follow at the Vashti Cemetery in Vashti, TX.

Family visitation will be Sunday, March 12th, from 2-4 p.m. at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

Stanley was born in Bowie, TX on March 30, 1949 to John Gray and Edith Jewel (Bibb) Maxwell. He grew up in Bellevue, TX and graduated from Bellevue High School as Valedictorian of his class in 1967. He attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls and graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Business. He worked for Beacon Insurance as an underwriter for over 38 years.

He was a member of Pleasant Mound Free Will Baptist Church in Buffalo Springs, TX for 52 years. He taught adult Sunday School classes and served at church Treasurer for over 25 years. He served as a deacon for 40 years.

He married Mary Louise Dixon on November 6, 1970 in Buffalo Springs, TX. They lived for eight years in Wichita Falls and then moved to Vashti where they resided for 45 years. They had two sons, Jason Wayne and Jeremy Randall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wanda Jean Nored Pipkin and Glenda Kay Johnson, grandson Sawyer Gray Maxwell, mother and father-in-law Doyle and Mildred Dixon.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Louise; sons, Jason and wife Jessica of Oklahoma City, OK and Jeremy and wife Tareh of Archer City, TX; grandchildren, Kylie, Jaxon, Grayson and Kinley Maxwell, Sarah Newell, Nehemiah and Grace Woods, Hunter Webb, Kaitlyn and Jenna Vieth; sisters, Nelda Riddle of Bowie, TX and Vanita Thomas and husband Melvin of Flower Mound, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
