Steven was born to Austin Barry and Grace Jane (Bales) Patterson in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 20,1940.
Steven had a larger-than-life personality and a genuine love for people that knew no bounds. He was a gifted storyteller and master joke-teller who could bring laughter and joy to any room. Steven never met a stranger, and he cherished every opportunity to visit, connect, and share conversations with friends old and new. He maintained lifelong friendships from his childhood, his years at Midwestern State University, and his career at Navistar Corporation. His warmth, humor, and loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Steven was most proud of his family. He was blessed with three children; Stephanie Andre and husband Victor Marshall, Gregory Todd, Paisley Dianne and husband Tim Green. Additional blessings are his five grandchildren; Hunter Marshall, Macy Kurszewski (Chase), Parker Marshall (Kyli), Presley Lowrance (Lathan), and Paris Green. God further blessed Steven with great grandchildren, Slate Marshall and Bryer, Braelyn and Tucker Kurszewski.
In 1994, he married Laura Beckwith Patterson and together they traveled across the USA and Canada. He looked forward to family gatherings and especially to going to the grandkids' sports events, school activities and visiting the grandkids' schools. He loved taking donuts or lunch to treat them. After retiring he made the decision to move to Forestburg, beginning a new adventure where he made many more friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, his son Gregory, his brother Bob Patterson, the mother of his children Gilda Crawford Hyatt and many cherished friends and family members.
He will be remembered by his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister Barbara Patterson Medlin, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends.
