Obituary For Elder Nathaniel Livingston Sr.

Elder Nathaniel Livingston, Sr., 95, loving husband of Dorothy (Turner) Livingston, peacefully passed away on August 2, 2021, at his home in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by his family. Elder Livingston was born in Walnut Lake, Arkansas, March 9, 1926, to James and Josephine Livingston. He attended Arkansas public schools and was drafted in the United States Army in 1944. He proudly served his country during World War II and was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1946. He began his career as a U.S. Civil Servant in 1953 retiring after 35 years of service as a Veterans Administration Benefits Counselor. Elder Livingston moved to Omaha, Nebraska as a young man where he encountered the Lord Jesus Christ at a revival that forever changed his life and put him on the path to evangelizing and saving souls. He was ordained in 1960 receiving his license to preach the gospel, baptize souls and work in the ministry. He first began pastoring in 1962 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Continuing his pastoral call through his transition to Atlanta, Georgia, he founded True Love Christian Church. Elder Livingston was a profound preacher with over 60 years in the ministry. He was a humble and dedicated servant and leader in the Kingdom of God. Those that knew him were either greeted with a hearty “Praise the Lord Any How” or “If you love the Lord, let me hear you say Amen!” Among his great loves in life was his family, his garden and he loved to travel. He loved going fishing and to Bar-B-Q. He loved cooking so that he opened “The Livingstone’s Restaurant” in 1972 serving home cooking to the Lincoln community. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Edmond Livingston,10 siblings and his former wives and mothers of his children Mary Johnson, Mary Holmes and Evangelist Verlena Livingston. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Dorothy Livingston; children, Nathaniel Livingston, Jr., Rosie Lee Young, Arthur Holmes, Joe Nathan Livingston (Joyce), Rene’ Livingston Flowers (Douglas), Myron Livingston, Pamela Livingston-Spruill (Kent), Nancy Livingston, Natasha Robinson (Harry), Sherry Nelson, Sandra Woods (Nate), Sterling Brooks, Jr. (Mylene), George Brooks, Valencia Richardson, and Raynard Brooks (Dawn); 36 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the True Love Christian Church family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 12 NOON at Liberty Baptist Church located at 1077 Ga-314 Fayetteville, Ga 30214.

A Viewing and Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at our Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home of Riverdale located at 6580 Church St. Riverdale, Ga 30274.

We require that everyone attending the viewing and service to please wear a mask.
