On this one-year anniversary of her passing, (which I did not hear about) and on this 8th year since she retired from Spelman after 60 years of work, I lift the name of Ms. Eva Slappey! She brought many smiles to our faces! I enjoyed chatting with her in the faculty-staff dining room, and one year, at her request, I baked her a carrot cake. I had lost touch with her over the years, but my memories of her remain pleasant. May the peace of God continue to console her surviving family and friends. I cherish her memory.
To the Slappey Family: Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Hold tight to your memories...Lean on each other for support...And trust in Jehovah God for the strength needed to endure. Psalm 46:1 assures us "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." My condolences, S. Acker.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
