Kennedy brought so much vivacity, joy, and positivity into my life. She was fiercely compassionate, incessantly loyal, and remarkably funny. So persistent and targeted in her goals, she put her whole heart into the things she wanted, whether it be 5 pull-ups or getting red velvet cake at all costs. She never made me feel anything but supportive, loved, and heard, and I admired her so deeply for this. I always knew I had a confidant in her, the amount of times that a conversation with and a hug from Ken was my 2nd period pickmeup is innumerable. I will miss her smile, her goofiness, her extremely unique take on the world, and listening to her shout drake lyrics while she belayed me or me her. The past few months brought me such joy to explore nature and share in common struggles with her. The world has lost and incredibly bright light. Rest easy Ken. -Teagan Furbish

To my childhood and college friend John, and to your wife I haven't met.

I understand the agony of enduring the loss of a child. It's a pain we suffer for a lifetime and unfortunately I am walking that very same path. I understand the depth and breadth of the pain and the love we carry for our children. There aren't much words of comfort but because I know deep sorrow I also know unspeakable joy. Being a parent is the best gift your daughter Kennedy has given you both. It is a joy that reverberates through every pore and every bone in our bodies as parents. Erika I know your daughters are everything to you. I have watched your babies grow up, first through shared pictures through the email and old fashioned snail mail, phones calls and then social media.
