MR. AARON LEE BURSE – Age 69, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was born August 18, 1956 to his parents; late father, Phillip Lee Burse and mother, Bertha K. Johnson Burse. Aaron was a graduate of Rossville High School Class of 1975. He retired from J & J Industries as a Hyster Driver. Aaron was a member of Greater Park City Missionary Baptist Church, Rossville, GA. Aaron was preceded in death by his son, Gary D. “Thump” Thompson, Sr.
As a child, Aaron was given the nickname “Fox” from his father Phillip, due to his red hair, but was affectionally known as “Fellowship” to his beloved family. He was well known for keeping his lawn cut to perfection.
Those left to cherish Aaron’s memories are his wife, Peggy S. Wofford Burse; daughter, Arielle (Stepfen) Brown; grandchildren; Erika Brown, Gary D. Thompson, Jr., Donna Thompson, and Alaiya Brown; great grandchildren; mother, Bertha K. Johnson Burse; siblings, Rev. Jerry (Stephanie) Burse, Donnie Burse, and Steve Burse; brothers-in-law, Terry (Ann) Aikens, James (Cherly) Wofford, Jr., and Frank Wofford; sisters-in-law, Earline Wofford and Chandlin Jackson; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 3527 Airport Rd. SE, Dalton, GA, 30721, with Rev. Jerry Burse, Eulogist and Elder Windell Smith, Presider. The family will receive extended family and friends a hour before the service at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
