MR. ALVIN ADAMS, JR. – Age 83, of Ringgold, GA passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was born March 3, 1942 to his late parents, A. C. Adams and Myrtle Mae Langston Adams in Ringgold, GA. Alvin was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1961. Alvin was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a Supervisor for Ross-Meehan and later with U. S. Pipe. Alvin retired from Catoosa County Public Works after many years of diligent work. After retirement he had a business in lawn care taking care of his beloved community. He enjoyed participating in a local C. B. Club with his infamous handle being “Fly Boy”, bowling clubs, Adams Gospel Singers, and fishing. Alvin was preceded by his daughter, Karen Arleen Adams Burton and son, Randle Wade Adams, sisters, Mrytle Hollaway and Mary Jane Adams.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Katie Rene Thomas Adams; children, Alvin Adams III, Ken (Tonarra) Adams both of Ringgold, GA, Scott (Denise) Adams of Cohutta, GA, and Devon (Crystal) Thomas of Ft. Oglethorpe; 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Janie Boykin, Marie Moore, and Gaddie (Ricky) Blanks; brother-in-law, James Hollaway Sr.; aunts, Bernice Langston, Doris Langston, and Betty Langston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Peria Baptist Church, 341 Spark St, Ringgold, GA 30736 with Rev. Craig E. Moore, Eulogist and Rev. David Thomas, Officiant. The family will receive extended family and friends on Saturday at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment; Ringgold Community Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
