MRS. ANNIE MAE AVERY BRYANT – Age 94, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at a local hospital. She was a lifetime member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Bryant, Sr., four daughters, Janie Mae McLin, Rosa Lee Lewis, Jesse Carreathers, and Isabelle Ruth Davis, and son, James Bryant, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Treadway and Jeanette (James) Caldwell; one son, Lawrence A. (Regina) Bryant; brother, Henry T. Avery; son-in-law, William Davis, Sr.; dearest cousins, Voncile Coleman, Bernice Walters; dearest friend, Elizabeth Johnson; forty-one grandchildren; one hundred great grandchildren; fifty-three great great grandchildren; two great great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Oakwood Baptist Church, 115 Oakwood Street, Chickamauga Georgia, with Rev. Darryl Ellis and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Friendship Baptist Church, 20 Parrish Circle, Chickamauga, Georgia. Her remains will lie in state at the Oakwood Baptist Church one hour before the service. Interment will be in Wallaceville Cemetery.
