MRS. CAROLINE VIRGINIA GRIFFIN BROOME- Age 85, - Of Decatur, Georgia and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, while surrounded by her loving family passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Mrs. Broome was born on November 19, 1940 to her late parents, Willie Benjamin Griffin and Pauline Davis Griffin. She was preceded by her husband, Willie Frank Broome, brothers, Hugh Gene Griffin, Robert Griffin, Davis Griffin, and Benjamin Brooks Griffin. Mrs. Broome was a Graduate of Emery Street School Class of 1960, member of Antioch Lithonia Baptist Church, and was a Supervisor at Frito Lays.
Survivors are her loving daughters, Latonda (Kenneth) Milner of Alpharetta, Georgia, Lynn (Michael) George of Ellenwood, Georgia, and Dr. Lonita Broome of Decatur, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Alexis (Jonathan), Dr. Bryan, Maya, Michael, Lauren, and Jada; great grandchildren, Cayden, Michael, Jr., Jaylin, Zyheir, and Journey; two sisters, Willa Faye Williams of Chicago, Illinois, Gladiola Griffin of Dalton, Georgia; sister-in-law, Joyce Broome of Decatur, Georgia; special nephew, Davis (βD. J.β) Griffin; Goddaughter, Patrice Brown Duncan; special niece, Veronica Purcell; special friend, Carmela Kidd; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, her church family, caregivers, and Brightmoore Hospice.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel, 2011 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, Georgia 30721 on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 1:00 P. M. with Rev. William Q. Watkins as the Eulogist. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
