Obituary For Charlene Anna Montgomery Elrod
MRS. CHARLENE ANNA MONTGOMERY ELROD - Age 64, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 in a Chattanooga Health Care with her family at her bedside. Charlene was born July 14, 1959 to the late Julius Montgomery and Barbara Ann Stamper Ware. She was preceded by her stepfather, T. J. Ware.
Survivors are her loving and devoted husband, Larry Elrod; daughters, Kabrecia Montgomery, Kenya Cantrell; sons, Quinton (Taylor) Elrod, Kyle Strickland, Malachi Wheeler; grandchildren, Kaiyla Chambers, Kaiynen Elrod, JΓ©naeyah Elrod, Tra and Ty Chambers; sisters, Loretta Montgomery, Stephanie Harris; brothers, Thomas (Shawanna) Ware, Stacy Montgomery, Marcus βSkipβ Harris, James Adams, Leon Harris, Gregory Adams; aunt, Robin Jackson; nephew, Travarous Ware; nieces, Latoria Montgomery, Shakera Adams; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins; bonus children, Stefanie Tidmore, Lengalica Dixon, Kiandra Underwood, Nicole Vincent; other relatives; Caretaker, Barbara Hubs; and loving friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. at New Bethel Christian Fellowship Church, 4009 Round Pond Road, LaFayette, Georgia 30728 with Pastor Ken Carson as Eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Naomi Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.

I'll never forget the first time, we went to the dollar store down from her house. I came to work and she said, will you go to the store for me, I said yes, but do you want to go with me, she said well my wheelchair is too heavy, I don't think I'll go, I said hang on one minute, went and put the wheelchair in my car, and cam back in and said are you sure you don't want to go, she said my wheelchair, and I said it's already in the car, she said really, well ok then I'm going to the dollar store and we didn't stop going anywhere after that time. I love and miss her so much. I'm glad I got to be her caregiver for almost five years.

As Charlene's caregiver at dialysis I will always be fond of the memories we have about yummy food we both enjoyed in similarity . Every treatment day was always something about what tasted good and what we would like to go home to have to eat or what she and I had door dinner the night before comparing our dinners . Charlene had such a contagious smile and a courageous will to push through another day of life .
