MRS. CORNELIA “CONNIE” HILL FORTSON - Age 88, - Of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. She was born in Dalton, Georgia on October 2, 1936 to the late Frank Hill, Sr. and Queenie Norris Hill. After she graduated from Emery Street High School she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and married the late Johnny Reid Fortson. Mrs. Cornelia Fortson was preceded by her parents, by her aunt, Lucy Mae Norris, brothers, Frank Hill, Jr., Albert E. Hill, Sr., William Hill, Russell Hill, Sr., and Wesley Hill, sisters, Annie Raines, Ona Lee Hill, Fannie Laura Hill, and Lucy Hill Macon.
Survivors are her loving sister, Martha Ward of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Patricia Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; dear caregivers, Bennie and Sharon Wright, the Harris family; many friends, and her church family.
Homegoing Celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church, 2394 Gresham Road, Southeast , Atlanta, Georgia 30316 – 3700. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 12:00 noon at West Hill Cemetery, Dalton, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Willis Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon. Arrangements by Levett and Sons Funeral Home, Decatur, Georgia and locally by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
