MRS. DELORES BLACKWELL JONES - Age 88, of Dalton, GA passed away Friday, October 31, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1937 to her late parents, Robert Lee Blackwell and Rachel Saxton Blackwell. Delores was graduate of Emery Street School. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served on the Matrons Circle as an Usher. She worked for the Lee Family and Myers Family for many years as a Housekeeper. Delores was a talented cook and avid shopper in her spare time.
Delores was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Jones; son, Brad Blackwell; granddaughter, Bradetta Nicole Blackwell; and sisters, Mary Verlin Harris and Nellie Hope.
Those left to cherish Delores’ memories are her; daughter, Mary A. Lewis; grandchildren, Scott (Shawn) Blackwell, Shannon (Stephanie) Blackwell, James (Danielle) Lewis, A’ngelique Lewis, Toriano Jermaine “T.J.” (Ashanti) Blackwell, Carvelle (Mary) Smith, and Pastor Carzelle (Farrah) Smith; special cousin / best friend, Bettye Spraggins; sister, Mary Cooper; former devoted daughter-in-law, Effie (Eurskine) Lyons; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Roan St, Dalton, GA 30721 with Rev. Rodney Weaver, Eulogist, and Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Presider. The family will receive extended family and friends on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Willis Funeral Home. Interment; West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.

Mrs Delores was my neighbor in south dalton and on clark st. ,my last memory of her was a conversation about us living in south dalton ,she's no longer suffering now may she rest in peace
