On behalf of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, we would like to express our sincere condolences to the Benson Family. Derrick was indeed a God fearing man, who loved God and his Family. He loved to sing, serve, draw pictures as he was so gifted in doing and do whatever he could to help others. It was a blessed privilege to have been his Pastor. To his family, we are praying for you all and know that we love you all.
I had the pleasure of meeting Derrick in the late 70's when he was a talented member of the recording group called, "Spring." Derrick was a gentleman & and overall great guy! May he rest peacefully, comfortably, & blissfully in the arms of his loving Savior!
It's been a long time, Derrick was a very nice person when he attended Mountain Riidge Baptist Church, may he RIP and may God comfort his wife and family during their time of bereavement 🙏🏿
