MR. EARL JAMES ROGER YATES, SR. - Age 78 - of Ringgold, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015. He was a retired teacher of Walker County Schools after thirty-one years, retired park ranger after twenty-four years, and was lastly employed by Salvation Army. He was a member of Woodstation Napier Chapel where he was a deacon and trustee, and was a member of Ft. Oglethorpe Lions Club. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Georgette McClurkins Yates; children, Andre Yates, Corey Yates, Kevin Yates, Earl M. Yates, Steven Yates, Dave Ridler, Suzanne Erixson, Gregory McClurkins, Dave Fernandez, Barbara Mitchell (Carl) Yates Young, Ebony Gladden, Cheryl Yates, Wendy Smith, Teki McClurkins, Monroe McClurkins, Pam Jackson-Tate, and Teresa Plummer; grandchildren, Keshayla (Kentrell) Yates, Robert Yates, Robin (LaDarren) Long, Sr., Sade (Donnye) Collins, Ashley Yates, Kris (Quella) Yates, Breosha Yates, Isaac Yates, Queenie Yates, K.J. Yates, Andre Yates, Jr., Tahtiana Yates, JaMichael Yates, Sadik Yates, Dezmund (Brianna) Yates, Pria Baker, Bryce Baker, Aja Yates, Romeo Yates, and Avari Yates; great grandchildren, Brizjaunna, Jelyn, Aalyssia, Kira, Kentrell, II., LaDarren, Jr., Kris, Kell Mario, Lucas, Anaysia Yates, Donnye Collins, III., Dajia, and Gene Gene; niece & nephews, Sarah Hardson, Henry (Myra) Baker, Johnny (Gloria) Baker, and Perry Baker; special nephew, Willis Baker and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Living Stone Church of God, 4230 Benton Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee with Pastor Rondra Johnson, Eulogist and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home Monday after 11:00am. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Ringgold Community Cemetery.
