Obituary For Edward Earl Little

DEACON EDWARD EARL LITTLE - Age 90, of Ringgold, GA passed away Monday, October 27, 2025. He was born February 2, 1935 to his late parents, Albert Little and Edna Mae Foster Little. Edward was a graduate of Emery Street High School Class of 1952. He was raised in and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church II where he served as a loyal Deacon and Treasurer. Edward served as a Booking Manager for “The Golden Trumpets” of Ringgold, GA and occasionally joined the singing group as a Baritone. Edward diligently worked 28 years for Cutter Laboratories as a Lab Technician and then 28 years for Van Heusen Shirt Distribution as an Order Fulfillment Specialist until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, grilling, traveling, and watching various sports.

Edward was affectionally known as “Earl” and “Duke of Earl” to his family and friends, but he was best known as “Hun” to his loving wife, Shirley. The couple wed July 1, 1956. From this union 4 children were born.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Mae Foster Little; and brother, Leroy Little.

Those left to cherish Edward’s memories are his wife of 69 years, Shirley Ann Bryant Little; four children, Priscilla A. (Eugene) Ellis of Acworth, GA, Eddie L. Little of Douglasville, GA, Clarence H. (Belinda) Little of Acworth, GA, and Yolanda Dione Hairston of Austell, GA; nine grandchildren, Jimitria C. Burks, Bryce E. Lewis, Bryan Little, Corey Little, Zackary Little, Kai Little, Kira Little, Nia Hairston, and Nicholas Hairston; four great grandchildren; Bellamy Burks, Harlem Little, Nyla Little, and Olivia Powell; five sisters-in-law, Helen Little, Mary Alice Tinson, Bettye Langston, Marcella (Fred) McDade, Effie (Eurskine) Lyons; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Lee Tinson and Hugh (Gwendolyn) Shropshire; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Peria Baptist Church, 341Sparks St, Ringgold, GA 30736, with Rev. Eugene Miller, Eulogist and Pastor Edward Ellis, Presider. The family will receive extended family and friends one hour before the service at the church. Interment; Graysville Cemetery (Graysville Community). Directions from Ringgold: Take Hwy 41 to Graysville. Turn right on S. Wooten Rd. Then turn right at the stop sign to stay on Cemetery Rd. The cemetery will be on the left (last fenced one).
