MRS. ELIZABETH SHELTON HINTON - AGE 70, - died Saturday night, the 22nd of October, 2011 at her home in Washington Hills, Chattanooga, Tennessee, after visits from friends and family concluding a day of celebration by singing and praying. She went to sleep peacefully.Born June 22, 1941 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Mr. Clifford Shelton and Mrs. Emma Lewis Shelton, both preceded her in death. The late paternal grandparents are Ruth and Julia Shelton; the late maternal grandparents, Elliot and Jennie Winston Lewis.Liz is survived by her children; one son, Gregory (Lois) Hinton, two daughters, Rosalind Adriene Hinton and Ronnette (Brian) McElvain, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, James C. (Aubria) Shelton of Chicago, Illinois; Rufus Lewis Shelton of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two sisters, Geneva Shelton (Rev. William) Tramble and Reba (James, Sr.) Southern, of Kensington, Georgia; former husband, Roy C. Hinton, Jr. of Chattanooga; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, one aunt, Mrs. Viola Shelton; three nieces, six nephews, two great nieces, a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 - 7:00 p. m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 427 Southern and Prospect Road, Kensington, Georgia. Funeral will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1:00 p. m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with her pastor, Rev. William Tramble, Jr., Eulogist. Interment, Garmany Memorial Gardens.
