MRS. FLETA ANN TOLLIVER PARKS - Age 89, of Dalton, GA passed away Friday, April 11, 2025. She was born August 5, 1935 to her late parents, James H. Tolliver, Sr. and Alice Taylor Tolliver. She was a graduate of Emory Street School. Fleta worked for the Bradley family and became inspired to obtain her Registered Nursing Degree from Dalton Junior College. Afterwards, she worked for Hamilton Medical Center for 27 years as a RN until her retirement. Fleta enjoyed baking cakes and was a part of the Willing Workers at her home church, Mountain Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph “Scott” Parks, Sr.; daughter, Denise “Nicy” Parks Ellington; brothers, Willie James Sims and James “Jimmy” Tolliver; and sister, Leonteen Capers.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Debbie (Dr. Tom) Hall of Dalton, GA, Pamela Williams of Chattanooga, TN, Sharon Cotton of Dallas, TX, Lori (Marvin) Curtis of Calhoun, GA, Ralph “Peter” Parks, Jr. of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Larry “Zerk”, Keith (Twanda), Allison Ellington, Shawntai ( Reginald) Jones, Dustin Hall, Sherrie, Shelly, Starla, Alex Williams, Julian( Heidi) Cotton, Lauren ( Josh) Askew, Leann Bonds, and bonus granddaughter, Majesty Bonds; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Cindy Tolliver; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special family, Patrcia Bradley Edwards and The Bradley family, Mountain Ridge Baptist Church family, and Staff of Amedisys Hospice Group.
Homegoing Celebration will be Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 1401 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Dalton, GA 30721 with Rev. Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Eulogist and Minister Eugene Miller, Officiant. The family will receive extended family and friends on Friday at the church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. Her remains will lie in state Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Willis Funeral Home. Interment; West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
