Obituary For Fredrick "Freddie" O'Neal
MR. FREDRICK “FREDDIE” O’NEAL – Age 82, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1944 to the late Lois O’Neal Covington. He was preceded by his twin brother, Fred Lee O’Neal. Fredrick was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette, Georgia at an early age and later became a faithful member of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia. He graduated from Hill High School and retired from Mohawk Industries after over fifty years of dedicated employment.
Loving cherished memories will remain with his wife, Linda Dwight O’Neal; daughters, Emily (Oscar) Reed, Tamara Childs; sons, Rodney (Toya) O’Neal, Marlon (Evette) O’Neal, Bradford (Panzella) O’Neal, and Patrick Ryan O’Neal, Sr.; grandchildren, Taylor Harvey, Morgan O’Neal, Jasmyne O’Neal, Landon O’Neal, Nilah Reed, Jordan Childs, Sgt. Christopher Childs, LaBreasha Childs, Karynn Beck, and Patrick Ryan O’Neal, Jr.; six great grandchildren; special cousin, William (Denise) Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Bettye Spraggins, Linda Cofield, Lamar “Red” Cofield, William James “Jimmy” (Joyce) Willis, Jr.; other extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 2:00 P. M. at the Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 1401 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, Georgia with Pastor Dr. Jerry Jones as Eulogist, and Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor, Sr. as Presider. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday, September 26, 2026 beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.

Freddie was a man, that told you exactly what he thought, how he felt about something, you always knew you were going to get the truth from Freddie, whether you wanted it or not. I have known Freddie since I was about ten years old, as he and Mr. Dan would come out to our house and cut up with my Dad. Linda, you were always by Freddie's side, no matter what the two of you were dealing with. You have been my best friend, for over thirty years, I love you like a sister. Freddie is resting and at peace, my prayer is that God will wrap you in His loving arms and take care of you. I am always here for you, but no one can hold you better than God. There will be hard days, crying days, days when you feel you can't go on, but just Hold on to God's unchanging hands and call on God, and He will get you through those days. May God wrap His loving arms around you, the kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and all those that Freddie touched on his time on this earth.
