MRS. GENEVA JENNINGS FORNEY – AGE 86, - Of Ringgold, Georgia passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Athens , Georgia to the late Mose Jennings and Lizzie Mae Smith Jennings. She was preceded by her sisters, Nellie Freeman, Mozzell Freeman, Ruby Stroud, brother, Mose “Jake” Jennings, sons, Roger Harris, and DeWayne Harris. Mrs. Forney was retired from Shepard Hills Convalescent Home, cargiver for Harry and Donna Cass, and she was a member of Mt. Peria Baptist Church.
Survivors are her loving son, Ozzie Lee (Christine) Harris; daughter, Ira Reid; sister, Lula Mae Madden; brother, Jerry Jennings; Daughter in law, Stephanie Harris, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; best friend, Elizabeth Warthan and other friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. at Mt. Peria Baptist Church, 341 Sparks Street, Ringgold, Georgia 30736, with Pastor Edward Ellis, Rev. Jimmy Ingram, and other Ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Ringgold Community Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
