MR. GERALD EUGENE SHOEMAKER – Age 60, - Of Rome, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at a local Healthcare. He was born April 26, 1960 in LaFayette, Georgia to the late Louie Samuel Shoemaker and Ersa Lee Careathers Shoemaker. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas McArthur Shoemaker, Everett Shoemaker, Edward Shoemaker, Earnest Shoemaker and sisters; Barbara Jordan and Jessie Mae Jordan.
Survivors are his loving family and wife of 26 years, Lelia Elaine Gibson Shoemaker; daughter, Jessica Gibson; four sons; Justin Gibson, Andrew Gibson, Aaron Gibson, Aldon Gibson; two grandchildren; Josiah Gibson, Ja’Kobe Gibson; sister, Katherine Marsh; brothers; James ( Minister Grace) Shoemaker, Weymon Shoemaker, Robert Shoemaker of Dalton, aunt; Katherine Stevenson of LaFayette, Father-in-law; Earl Gibson; mother-in-law, Pastor Georgia Gibson of Rome, a host of nieces, nephews; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Oakland Cemetery in Rome, Georgia with Pastor Georgia Gibson officiating. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.willisfuneralhomedalton.com.
