Obituary For Gracie Mae Goodson

MS. GRACIE MAE GOODSON – Age 79, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023. She was born January 16, 1944 in Gordon County to her late parents, Willie Floyd Goodson and Octivia Minnie Lee Winters Goodson. She was a graduate of Summer Hill School Class of 1964. She attended Wesley Chapel Church from an early age. She retired from Sample Factory Plant where she worked for many years as well as other textile companies. She loved listening to Gospel music, especially Lee Williams, and socializing with her family and friends. She is also preceded in death by her son, James William Goodson, grandson, Ja’Barret Yamon Goodson, brother, Willie James Goodson, sisters, Kara Goodson Washington and Martha Goodson Slocum.

She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Newell of Rome, GA and Victoria Lousie Goodson of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Donnelle Anthony, Jr., Xaxton Goodson both of Rome, GA, Xavier Goodson, and Alana Allen both of Calhoun, GA; great grandchildren, Ja’Laila Anthony and Kadyn Anthony both of Calhoun, GA; sisters, Magdalene McAfee, Alean Smith both of Cartersville, GA, and Cozella Hyatt of Calhoun, GA; brothers, Robert (Shirley) Goodson, Bobby Lee (Virginia) Goodson all of Cartersville, GA, Charles Goodson of Rydal, GA, and Billy (Felicia) Goodson of Calhoun, GA; uncle, Bobby Winters of Fairmount, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 4:00 P. M. at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Goodson, Eulogist. Her remains will lie in state on Friday from 11:00 A. M. at the funeral home until the funeral hour. Interment; Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery, Fairmount, GA. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
