MR. HERMAN LEE O’NEAL, SR. - Age 79, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026. Herman was born April 26, 1946 to his late parents, Adrian O’Neal and Rosalind Wofford O’Neal. Herman was a graduate of Emery Street School and attended Tennessee State University. Herman was a member of the United States Army and received a honorable discharge. He was a member of New Harvest Ministries, Inc. Herman work many years for Marketing Alliance Group and later retired from Mohawk Industries. Herman enjoyed watching his Western shows and affectionally loved his family and pet dog “Coco”. Herman is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Faye Benton; brother, Kenneth O’Neal; and granddaughter, La’Toya O’Neal.
Those left to cherish Herman’s memories are his beloved wife, Maria “ReRe” O’Neal; children, L’Tonya (Kenneth) Simpson and Herman (Telisa) O’Neal, Jr, Koquesta Stokes, LeBron (Britney) Stokes, Kenneth (Janitza) Stokes, and Lagaya Stokes; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; siblings, Doris (Ben) O’Neal, John (Suzette) O’Neal, Gloria Cummings, and Keith O’Neal; aunt, Genevelyn Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, March 2, 2026 at 6:30 P.M at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dr. N. P. Starling, Dr. Jerry D. Jones, and Pastor Kenneth Simpson, Officiants. The family will receive extended family and friends one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
