MR. HOMER EDWARD LEE STAMPER, - Age 70, - Of Summerville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017. He was born on December 15, 1946 to the late Emma Belle Stamper in the Gore Community, was retired from Shaw Industries, and was a life member of Prospect Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Ruth Young, Mary Ann Stamper, brother-in-law, James Perry Young. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Martha Jean Covington Stamper; son, Reginald Lee Stamper, Sr., godson, Burt (Wanda) Lawrence; daughters, Marcie (Thomas) Stubbs, Amanda Stamper, and Lynn Covington; seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two special grandchildren, Marrissa Stubbs, and Belle Anderson; two sisters, Helen (Lee Edward) Powell, Frances Evans; brothers, Jeff David (Pauline) Stamper, James (Rosie Lee) Stamper; brother-in-law, Roger Lee Covington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:00 P. M. at Prospect Baptist Church, 194 Prospect Road, LaFayette, Georgia with Pastor Scott Copeland and Rev. James Washington, Jr. as Eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Flower Bearers will be the Women of Prospect and Casket Bearers will be the Men of Prospect. Interment, Summerville Cemetery.
