Dear Marsh Family. I write to express my deepest condolence at your loss. While I have never met Hubert Marsh, I feel I know him well. Scripture teaches the tree is known by the fruit it bears and I know the fruit of Mr. Marsh, in the person of his son Andrew. Andrew was a part of the Music Ministry of the Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church in Cambridge, MA, while he attended Boston's Berklee School of Music. He was a fine young man with apparent good home training. The work Mr. Hubert had done, spoke for him while his son was in Boston. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Reverend Howard A. McLendon, Pastor, 1984 - 2006

My family new Mr. Marsh for years, as I grew up with Andrew. To this day, my mom and I talk about seeing Mr. Marsh hauling around band props and running onto the field to help get us set up before the marching band halftime show. He always did it with a smile and a light in his eyes, even though it must have been a literal pain in the back! Most of all, our memories of Mr. Marsh are those of a loving, faithful man who cherished his family above all, looked at life with positivity, humor, and hope, and truly lived in such a way to make the world a more beautiful place. I can't even imagine all the hugs he's handing out in heaven right now. This world is a better place because he was here. -Megan Prewitt Koon and Leslie Prewitt

Huber and I became friends at Dalton Jr College in 1971. Later we transferred to West Georgia. Our children became school mates with his. I visited him and Minnie in June this year. I have a deep felt sense of loss since I learned of his passing last night.
Hubert has left a legacy and a trail of friends saddened and broken hearted family. There was only one Hubert Marsh and the world has been a greater place with him in it.
God bless Minnie and Andrew and May they be comforted at this time. He will be missed by all.
Message from Don Coleman
It's difficult to put into words right now the sense of loss and devastation at losing our dear friend Hubert Marsh. A true gentleman in every respect. One of my great honors over the years was when Hubert asked me to give members of his family a tour of the Historic Marsh House. The moment was very humbling for me and it became impossible to control my emotions. But, we laughed together and we cried together, and as always, Hubert was the "rock". Always thoughtful. Always compassionate. I recently reminded him of the beautiful day that he, Mary Smitherman, and myself shared when they visited me at my home last year. Wonderful memories. The world has lost a favorite son...
I met Hubert at a Christmas party in December of 1977 shortly after starting at the ADAC At that time I did not know he was my cousin He is the consummate professional well thought of by colleagues and administrators He worked the medical health side while I worked the mental health side of the spectrum There was a time when Hubert fell ill and I wondered how someone with all that knowledge could end up seriously ill it's called life Hubert recovered and returned to his waiting and excited colleagues We remained friends and when I happened to return to Dalton he would ask when was I coming home I would say that Ohio is my home and his typical refrain would be Dalton and the conversations would end I learned of this spell a few weeks ago I had no doubt this was just a setback and the comeback kid would do just that Shock is not what hit me when I learned of his transition I wanted/needed a simple explanation and then it hit me It was time for Willisa to dance with her FATHER again I love my family and would like to share words of comfort with you This is not good bye just until we meet again When someone we love dies the body dies but the relationship lives on I can honestly and without hesitation say Hubert is and has always been an angel Angels don't just disappear from sight they just shine brighter in a different realm! See you further on up the road! Marvin L Henderson Kent OH
