Obituary For Jackie Ray "Smokey" Robinson

MR. JACKIE RAY “SMOKEY” ROBINSON - Age 71, of Cohutta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Robinson and Robbie McIntire Robinson Preston, grandparents, Arthur McIntire and Gladys McIntire, godparents / aunt and uncle, Henry and Betty Baker, sister, Ann Hughley, and grandson, Loren Blake Smith.

He is lovingly survived by his special friend, Frieda Robinson; daughters, Nerissa Robinson Moore, Jacelyn Sheree (Joshua) Reap; grandchildren, Mercedes Smith, Chris Hull, Camden Moore, Jacey Hull, Kobe (Jackie) Hull, Jamarey Hull; great grandchildren, Cayden Williams, Kylan Moore; brothers and sisters, Linda Daniels, Michael (Eula) Robinson, Glennis (Edward) Golson, Gail (Edward) Mikes; aunt, Sarah Johnson; special nieces and nephews, Tammy (Chris) Jackson, Michael (Erin) Robinson, Jr.; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Special thank you to all the special friends during his time of illness.

Funeral Service will be on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 3:00 P. M. at the Chapel with Rev. Rodney Weaver as Eulogist. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. Interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Cohutta, Georgia. I had not seen Jackie in a while, and was surprised to hear of his passing. Jackie was a friend and a skilled carpenter, and I often hired him. He will be missed. Deanna, jimmie Baker.
