Obituary For James Alvin "Jimbo" Johnson

MR. JAMES ALVIN “JIMBO” JOHNSON - Age 76, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away Monday, January 6, 2020. He was born on September 27, 1943 in Fairmount, Georgia to the late Tobe Johnson and Clara Johnson. He was preceded in death by his sisters, brothers, and son Tyrone Solomon. He worked at The Cartersville Water Treatment Department, and a self-trained Plumber who served many in the Community at needed times. He was employed by Moms Bakery and TTC Pipelines and had several hobbies including yard work and NASCAR Racing.

Survivors are his wife Nancy Marie Henderson Johnson; in this union they were blessed with four sons; Randy Henderson, Byron (Kim) Johnson, Lamar (Sabrina) Johnson, Stephen (Sharon) Johnson. Additional survivors are daughter, Stephanie Rogers; sister, JoAnne Shropshire of Calhoun, Georgia; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. from Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1 Mount Olive Street, Cartersville, Georgia with Pastor Randy Livsey and other Ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment, Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville, Georgia.
