MR. JEFFREY LEE JACKSON, - AGE 68, - Of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at a local Health Care. He was born on June 6, 1952 to his late parents, Wilson C. Jackson and Jessie Mae Ware Jackson. One brother preceded him, Wilson Donyelle Jackson. He graduated from LaFayette High School, and attended Dalton State College, Tidewater Community College, and was a United States Navy Petty Officer as Launch and Recovery Operation. He was a life member of Prospect Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Alicia Thurman Jackson of Dalton, Georgia; son, Torrey Harris of Rossville, Georgia; special goddaughter and niece, Porsha Mitchell, of Marietta, Georgia; four brothers, Kevin (Charlotte) Jackson of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Dale (Stacy) Jackson, Craig (Heather) Jackson, and Terrell (Tina) Jackson of LaFayette, Georgia; three grandchildren, Torrey Harris, Jr., Trace Harris, and Tranae Harris, of Rossville, GA; in-laws, Jewell (Charles Jr.) Gwynn of Dalton, and Richard ( Wanda) Thurman of Chattanooga, Tennessee; eight aunts, Mildred Griffin, Sally Ware, Nella Bell, and Carolyn Jackson of LaFayette, Ga, Linda Lacks of New York, NY, Linda (Khalid) Kamal of Los Vegas, NV, Lula Mae Elkins of Paris, CA, Helen Madden of Summerville, GA, Geraldine (Cleveland) Smith of Noble, GA; uncles, Tim (Margaret) Jackson of Dalton, GA, and Glynn (Bernice) Jackson of Cleveland, OH; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside Service and Interment will be on Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee at 10:30 A. M. with Rev. J. Scott Copeland, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 – 7:00 P. M. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.

Jeffrey was one of 5 of us, that flew from Knoxville to Orlando For Navy boot camp. Jack Gibson, from Rockwood; Jim Lyles, from Athens,Tenn; Don Ledbetter, from Chattanooga; myself, Brian Foley, Chattanooga; and Jeffrey. RIP Brother.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We will keep this in mind as we pray for strength for our family. We love and miss you cousin Jeff!
