Obituary For Jerry Lamar Young, Sr.
MR. JERRY LAMAR YOUNG, SR. β AGE 69, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026. He was born on October 24, 1956 in LaFayette, Georgia to the late John Calvin βJ. C.β Young and Ruby Lee Stallings Young. He was preceded by his wife, Sandra Gail Young. He was a former member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette, GA at an early age, and was a faithful member at Bethel A. M. E. Church in Dalton.
Precious memories will remain with his loving and devoted family, Kenya Young, Diana (George) OβNeal, Tara (Tyrone) Crawford, and Katie Combast; son, Lamar (Ayla) Young; grandchildren, Thailan and Alira Young, Rashad Ramsey, Princeton Smith, Sonya Smith, Latoya West, Briana Butler, Dezmond Smith, Sandra Smith, Tykeem Crawford; a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Joan Ware, Marcella (Rev. Alexander J., Sr.) Bullard; brothers, David (Laura) Young, Herman (Inez) Ragland; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and his church family.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 1:00 P. M. at the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor, Sr. and other Ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday August 28, 2026 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 P. M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Saturday. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
