MR. JODY LAMAR HARRIS – AGE 50, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025. He was born on January 14, 1975 to the late James Howard Harris and JoAnn Manning Burse Harris. He was preceded by his brother, Jamie Lavar “Peavy” Harris, grandparents, Arthur and Sarah Harris, and grandfather, Joe Spencer Burse, III.
Survivors are his loving family, grandmother, Anna Lee Burse; sister, Joni LeeAnna (James) Williams; niece, and nephews, Jaylon Harris, Taylon Harris, and Shaylon Harris, ; stepmother, Annette Ross; stepsisters, Amanda (Rudy) Garcia, and Bridgette Allen; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Celebration of Life for Mr. Jody Lamar Harris will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:00 P. M. at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 1401 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, Georgia 30721 with Pastor Dr. Jerry D. Jones as Eulogist and Bishop Dr. Bennie Tibbs as Presider. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 7:00 P. M. Interment, Fairground Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
I'm going to miss you my Cuzzin, my prayer partner, my friend, Jody. I call him Quiet Storm. A great artist, and he had loving spirit. Family stay encouraged and love one another as God told us to do. I'll be praying for us all.
Jody was a great person, poet, artist, and DJ. He taught me how to DJ parties and was also a historian of our black heritage. And a great cousin. My condolences
