MR. JOHN CLIFFORD “BIG JOHN” CLARDY, III – Age 80, of Dalton, GA peacefully passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Shepard Hill Nursing Home. He was born April 9, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN to his late parents, father, John Clifford Clardy, II and mother, Betsie Ross Clardy. He is also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Clardy, daughter, Stephanie Taylor, brothers, Charlie Clardy, former wife, Sylvia Ware, and wife, Vicky Clardy.
John worked as a Sanitation Worker for Indianapolis Department of Public Works and later retired as an Industrial Engineer for McDonald's. He was a member of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church. In his spare time he loved drawing, listening to Jazz and Gospel Music, horses, assembling gadgets, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Tanya Clardy, Tammy (David) Green, Nicole (Rev. David) Pinner; grandchildren, Craig Pinner, Keshia (Maliya) Clardy Williams, Khristopher Taylor, and Kevin Pinner; sister, Erica Johnson; special sister-in-law, Lazette Coleman; special niece, Sonya Clardy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 1401 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Dalton, GA 30721 with Rev. Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Eulogist and Elder Detria Smith, Presider. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
