MRS. JOSEPHINE SHUMPERT FOSTER β Age 109, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and formerly of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. She was born on September 20, 1912 to the late Elijah Shumpert and Isabella Ruff Shumpert in Plantersville, Mississippi. She was preceded by her husband Mitchell Foster, one daughter, Amie LaBell Barkley, son-in-law, Albert Otis Goodloe, great great granddaughter, Angel Davis, stepson, L. C. Foster, two sisters, Pearl Taylor, and Hattie OβNeal. She was a faithful member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are her loving and devoted daughter, Nellie LaPearl Goodloe of Chattanooga, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Maggie Foster of Tupelo, Mississippi; son-in-law, Roosevelt Barkley; grandchildren, Michael (Daneen) Davis of Chattanooga, Tennessee; step grandson, Rev. Jerrell (Roseana) Goodloe; great grandsons, Mario Davis of California, Darrion Davis of LaFayette, Georgia, Chance Davis; great great grandson, Maddux Davis of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, dear friend, Dot Goodloe and other loving friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. at New Home Baptist Church, 256 New Home Missionary Road, Noble, Georgia 30728 with Pastor Ray Brent Marsh as Eulogist and other Ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Marsh Memorial Garden. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
