Obituary For Julia Nell Johnson Suttles
MRS. JULIA NELL “MEEMAW” JOHNSON SUTTLES - Age 84, - Of LaFayette, Georgia transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Mrs. Suttles was born on September 15, 1939 in Dalton, Georgia. She was preceded by her mother, Elzeria Johnson Manning, husband, Minister Paul Alexander Suttles, daughter, Lucrenia Suttles Young, goddaughter, Mia Willis, sister, brothers, and cousins. Mrs. Julia was a graduate of Emery Street School and a former member of Fairground Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia. She was a Deaconess and Mother of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette, Georgia. She retired from Lookout Mountain Community Service.
Survivors are her loving and devoted children, Pamela S. Wright, Lugenia Suttles, Tracia S. Miller, Minister Major Suttles, Sherman (Tahnee) Suttles, and Todd (Michelle) Suttles; fourteen grandchildren, Major II (Julie), Portia, Zimbe, Daniel Trey, Sharista, Leigha, Kiersten, Nicholas, Gracia, Azerah, Arrae, Kiara, Celine; six great grandchildren, Malachi, Zoey, Kyleigh, Amontee, Cashdyn, McKenzie; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Reuben (Ann) Suttles, James LeBron Suttles, Dony (Mary) Suttles, Margaret S. (Jimmy) Blaylock; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Julia Nell Johnson Suttles will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 289 Dunwoody Road, LaFayette, Georgia 30728 with son, Minister Major Suttles, as Eulogist and Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor as Presider. The family will receive friends at Mt. Zion Baptist Church one hour before the service. On Friday evening December 29, 2023 there will be a Visitation and Praise Service at Community Fellowship Church, 409 North Fredrick Street, Dalton, GA 30721, from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Interment on Saturday at Naomi Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
